The Oscars 2024 are celebrating a big year in cinema. The night will be marking the end of the 2024 awards season, and as much as we’d like to focus on cinema, the Oscars 2024 men’s fashion will be one for the books if the rest of the season has anything to show for it. Cillian Murphy, Dominic Sessa, Ryan Gosling, Colman Domingo and so many others tore it down at the BAFTA’s.
It seems after an era of loud prints and colors, men’s red carpet fashion has really returned to form in embracing the classic black suit. Ryan Gosling paired his with hot pink socks. Dominic Sessa wore a suit with sharp lapels. Ramy Youssef wore a gorgeous wide-leg pant.
In the last five years, the mainstream conversation in fashion has really shifted the spotlight onto menswear. It has colored womenswear, accessories, culture, celebrity, film, television, nightlife, and more. As a result, male celebrities are able to tackle mainstream stages like the Oscars and other red carpets and magazine covers in experimental garments that garner more meaningful conversations.
As a result, we’ve seen male celebrities like Timothee Chalamet, Bad Bunny, Barry Keoghan, Tyler the Creator, and more really represent the new wave of what fashion has become. Over the course of the Academy Awards red carpet, we’ll be updating this document live below.
